diffuse

how he and she naturally diffuse, how he

comes into the room and sits next to her in

thought only does because the other seats are full

and love ensues— planets will

do that to people—how planets promote

proximity and proximity does love and love

does explosion. this is why

suns always explode—all the approximate

flames licking each other, pulled back

into one another, tongues pulled back

into that bright glowing skull—even

the moon licks the table back at night.

and in the morning the woman leaves

the table with her small ocean

of milk in her bowl in her breast in

her self and the man leaves with

his spoon into his bowl into his hands into

the sink, washing and thinking how

the man and woman are both in

but in very different ways.
