emergency poem

break glass in case of emergency

read poem

save a life

with poetry

the glass now glittering on the floor

the frantic father reading

as his son's throat closes off . gasping for air

both of them are reaching for air

the father sucking in the poem

an spitting it out like an incantation

will airways ever give way to poetry

surely even the air must appreciate when it is fondled with the tongue of a poet

when it is warmed by the blood of his lungs

the father leans in close and reads the poem and air into his son's mouth

letting the poeticized air do whatever it can

in case of an emergency.
